Restaurante La Judería de Vejer — seasonal Andalusian cooking and panoramic terrace in Vejer's most photographed alley

The house

Restaurante La Judería de Vejer: traditional cuisine with memory

Our small restaurant sits in the historic Jewish quarter of Vejer de la Frontera, in an old house on Arcos de las Monjas alley, next to the castle. We have a terrace and dining room with panoramic views over the white village — among the best views you can enjoy while dining in Vejer.

Our menu is built around local produce: wild Atlantic bluefin tuna from the almadraba, wild and estuary fish, rice dishes, Retinto beef from La Janda, seasonal vegetable plates, and a few with Moroccan heritage like our chicken pastilla with almonds.

We are small, and that lets us take care of every table. A few tables, a terrace with the best views, and a personal welcome: so that every meal becomes something to remember.

Three ways to enjoy it

The terrace with the best views in Vejer

With the best panoramic views over Vejer's old town. At sunset, when the white village turns golden, there is no better spot to share a good bottle of Andalusian wine from the Sherry Triangle.

Andalusian cuisine, local produce, in season

Local and seasonal produce as our starting point. We cook without fuss, with respect for the ingredient and the right cooking times. Artisan bread, Andalusian olive oil, regional wines.

Arches of the Judería in Vejer

The place: Vejer's Judería and the Concepcionistas Convent

Right next to the old Convento de las Concepcionistas, with which we share the arches that cross Judería street: buttresses raised after the local 1773 earthquake to hold up the church walls and the houses facing the alley. They are still there today, framing the entrance to the restaurant — one of the most photographed corners of Vejer de la Frontera's historic centre.
